For the planning of climbing facilities the norm for artificial climbing walls  'DIN EN 12572' has to be considered. Herein, static demands for the dimensioning of belaying points and the underconstruction are defined. Generally, appropriate statics should be delivered together with the climbing facility.

On Top climbing walls are fitted with a wooden skeleton framing. This type of construction is nearly maintenance-free because of long-lasting nailed joints. The underconstruction is dimensioned individually for the conditions in the building. Belaying points generally must be dimensioned for loads of 1 ton (10kN).
